Let’s take a trip together.

This month, we’re going to explore where we are and how we feel. We’ll work on being totally honest with ourselves and take a trip through time together.

Week 1: An honest letter to yourself

It doesn’t have to be a letter. You can make a mind map, list, brain download, etc.

It doesn’t matter what it looks like- the point is to write to yourself exactly how you feel right now. What are the things you say to yourself all the time? Are you mad at yourself for something? Mean to yourself? Feeling guilty? Or maybe you love yourself and gas yourself up all the time.

Whatever it is, use your authentic voice. Talk to yourself how you actually talk to yourself. Vent. Get it all out.

Week 2: A letter to your childhood self

Go back in time. Any time. If you want, you can find a photo of yourself as a child and use that as your jumping off point.

What is going on in baby you’s life? What do you wish you could have said to yourself? What tone would you take with yourself?

Hold that child close to your heart and tell them whatever feels right to you. Get it all out.

Week 3: A letter from your childhood self

Remember that tiny human you wrote a letter to last week? They’re going to write back.

How would they feel about who you are now? What would they say to you? How would they respond to your letter?

Week 4: A reflection

Write another letter to yourself, but this time, keep in mind that child you’ve been speaking with the last 2 weeks.

That compassion you have for that child- hold that in your heart as you write another letter to your curent self.

How do you feel now? How has your letter to yourself changed? Is the tone different? Has how you feel changed at all?
