When we’re going through a challenging time, it can often feel like the end of the world. But it isn’t.
The only constant truth is that everything passes.
Here is a list of resources and suggestions to help you when you feel like you’re sinking.
Self Care Toolbox: do one thing every day for 5-7 days
- Reach out to the community and share how you’re feeling
-
Go for a walk in nature
- Pet an animal
-
Meditate (Try this one from Alexia Rock)
-
Do a brain download: write down everything you’re thinking, good and bad, just to get it out (or if that’s too overwhelming try these 6 simple questions to take back control from Zoe Robinson)
- Listen to Sarah read dirty limericks
-
Use your self affirmations and mantras (and/or try this subliminal self love audio from Dawn Evans)
-
Lay under a blanket (maybe a weighted one) and watch your favourite show
- Put on some uplifting music and dance and sing
- Take a shower, put on clean comfy clothes, and change your sheets
- Listen to Sarah’s Dick Poem
- Do a past daily workshop like the Journaling for Self Love Workshop or Poetry Workshop
- Feeling bad about yourself? Try my Love Your Body Mini Workshop
- Get creative and make a vision board
- Check out the Get Inspired section of this site, pick a writing prompt, and work your way through it
- Be spontaneous – go out when you had planned to stay in – stay in when you had planned to go out – set the alarm for 2am and look at the stars.
And above all else, remember how loved you are. How valued. That everything is temporary and you’ve survived 100% of your worst days.
You are not alone. You are right where you belong.
